About Sicels

Sicels is a slow fashion studio based in Copenhagen, est. late 2019 by Mariapia Mineo, MA in Fashion Design from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation. Sicels is focusing on seasonless, timeless scarves inspired by Mediterranean patterns and colours, ethically hand crafted in Italy and England. All scarves are designed in Copenhagen and printed in premium family run studios that, alongside sourcing only natural & sustainable textiles, are strongly committed to use innovative technology to reduce water usage and recycle excess dyes in the process. All dyes used are water soluble and the fabrics are coated and prepared for printing using a mixture of natural products only. Sicels collections are seasonless and all scarves produced in limited editions to avoid over production and encourage a more conscious purchase. Fabrics used on Sicels scarves range from the classic Silk twill and Crepe de Chine to Organic Peace silk, Merino virgin wool, Cotton voile, Ecovero Viscose. The latest drop features qualities such as Recycled "Spun" silk and GOTS certified silk twills aiming to gradually reduce the use of regular silk in favour of more sustainable alternatives.
