About Sierra Meadows Foundation
Sierra Meadows Foundation envisions a Central Valley where all individuals have equitable access to the behavioral health care they need and deserve. Birdie Lou Counseling Center and Encourage Speech Services for Children services are offered completely free of charge. Sierra Meadows Foundation is a community benefit organization founded by Dr. Matthew Tatum, CEO of Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health. The first project from Sierra Meadows Foundation is Birdie Lou Counseling Center. The Birdie Lou Counseling Center provides free therapy services to those in Fresno County experiencing mild to moderate mental health symptoms. We offer individual therapy for adults and children (7 and older), couples therapy, family therapy, and a variety of groups to address a wide range of mental healthcare concerns. Birdie Lou Counseling Center functions as a training facility for therapists-in-training with local marriage and family therapy, counseling, and social work masters programs. All therapists-in-training are supervised by our experienced, licensed clinical supervisors. Our Encourage Speech Services program serves children aged 18 months to 15 years old struggling with speech, language, and learning challenges. We provide evaluation, treatment, and advocacy to learning and communication challenged children and support for the family unit. Intervention is based on each child and family's unique strengths and needs.
