About Significant Seams

Significant Seams uses creativity to build community and support people in vulnerable life moments. We aim for a world where people dont need to go through hardship alone. We bring people together ideally before, but often during, and just after, challenging life experiences to participate in creative and practical textile-related projects. Significant Seams activities aim to create the relaxation response, impart skills, build self-confidence in participants, while working with partners to identify the most vulnerable and needy, and facilitate provision of and access to the most appropriate additional support. Participants meet others at a similar life stage; beginning the formation of a new and lasting support network and a new self-confidence. We currently work in partnership with Devon Recovery Learning Community, part of Devon NHS Partnership Trust, Devon County Council in delivering the Holiday Activity and Food programme for 11-16 year olds, TTVS in North Devon, and St Petrock's in Exeter. We also have support from The Baring Foundation and the School for Social Entrepreneurs.
