About Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket (SSHL)

Sigtunaskolan Humanistiska Läroverket SSHL is a Swedish national boarding school, established in accordance with the Education Act, (chapter 29, sections 15 and 16) that attracts a range of students from within the local community in Sigtuna itself, across Sweden and from within the Swedish community around the world. Increasingly, students without traditional links with Sweden also apply to the school. Courses can be read in Swedish and English, and can follow the Swedish curriculum, or the International Baccalaureate. Around one third of our 500+ students are boarders. Schooling at SSHL is based on a humanistic philosophy, focused primarily on the complete whole. All knowledge is interconnected, regardless of whether it comes from classical school subjects, sports, the creative arts or recreational activities. This holistic approach provides our teachers with good opportunities to stimulate every student’s unique talents and potential. We offer our students a unique blend of Swedish and international culture, high academic standard and high-class student support, for both boarding and day students. Our belief is that committed teachers, a focus on the individual and a wholesome learning environment all contribute significantly to academic achievement. The school is located along Lake Mälaren in a serene environment close to nature, with access to an active and inspiring recreational time, as well as close access to the historical town of Sigtuna and Arlanda Airport. SSHL is run by Sigtuna School Foundation and, as a foundation it is not run for profit.
