About Sikh Law Students' Association
The Sikh Law Students’ Association (“SLSA”) is a community-based organization with the goals of bringing together Sikh-identifying legal professionals to promote professional development and action change within our communities. Founded on the Sikh principles of Kirat Karna (honest living), Vand Chakna (sharing with others) and Naam Japna (focus on God), the SLSA serves as place for Sikh and non-Sikh students to connect to learn about law, gain insights into the legal profession, and network with leading lawyers in the field. The SLSA also provides a place for Sikh students to obtain community support, mentorship & guidance, and a place for non-Sikh students to learn more about and meaningfully engage with the Sikh community. As an organization, we are committed to improving access to justice through legal education for vulnerable populations and engaging in meaningful professional opportunities within the Sikh diaspora in Canada.
