About Silver Spring Village

Silver Spring Village sustains a robust neighbors-helping-neighbors network that supports older adults who wish to continue living as independently as possible and be fully engaged in their community. Our vision is to be an essential partner in building and sustaining an age-friendly and diverse community where engaged and caring members look out for one another and enjoy a sense of purpose and connectedness. Each year, we offer more than 1500 volunteer-provided services such as household tasks; rides; errands; medical notetaking; support teams; friendly visits, calls, and walks; emergency preparedness; LGBT seniors supports; and more. To combat loneliness and social isolation, the Village annually produces nearly 900 social, educational, recreational, and cultural activities that keep aging bodies and minds healthy and engaged. Our vision is a model age-friendly community where engaged, caring neighbors look out for one another daily. Our work depends on the dedication of more than 200 volunteers and partnerships with other nonprofits and local businesses.
