About SIM - Research Triangle Park
Founded in 1988 as the North Carolina Chapter, we began as one of the first chapters in the Southeast. With members from across the state, the chapter quickly became the premier organization for sharing best practices and developing valuable relationships. With continued growth in the Charlotte metro region, a new chapter was born there in 2010, and we renamed ourselves to reflect the rich history and reach of the Research Triangle Park. Since inception, the chapter has raised and donated over $250,000 to the promotion of technology and education through its Philanthropic Fund.
