Every nursing school wants students using realistic equipment in their practice lab- including a replica of medication administration systems used by hospitals. But most equipment is cost prohibitive, confusing and not easy to adapt to the educational settings. sim2grow, LLC created a medication administration training system with essential elements: dispensing unit, barcode scanning, and documentation capabilities. We eliminated the confusion and frustration that comes with various cobbled together practice equipment. Students can now repeatedly practice med passes until it is second nature. sim2grow was founded by two nurse educators who understand the nursing education space and what students need to transfer this skill to patient care in the hospital. sim2grow’s medication administration system takes students through the entire medication administration process and highlights each critical element along the way- from the med room where the student prepares the medication to the bedside where they confirm one last time that all checks are correct. It even includes the opportunity to document relevant clinical patient information related to the medication being administered. Once a student finishes and taps ‘done’, the system software automatically resets and is ready to be handed off for the next student to start. There is no complicated, confusing or time-consuming upkeep. Teaching Nursing Students med pass is too important to not get right. Students deserve unlimited practice because nurses should NEVER feel unprepared when they administer medication.
