About Simard Bilodeau Contemporary

Established in 2012 by Canadian proprietors Guy Simard and Eve-Marie Bilodeau, Simard Bilodeau Contemporary is an art gallery based in Downtown Los Angeles’ Art District. They focus on representing national and foreign emerging to mid-career artists, mostly painters and sculptors. With a second exhibition space at The Peninsula Hotel in Shanghai, China since 2013, they have a keen interest in the diversity of artistic and cultural languages. The gallery seeks to break down barriers to gender equality with a majority of women artists being represented. An expression of authenticity is what all artists have in common within their practice. There is no means of spurious actions but depth in what they create from within. Seizing a moment in time to make it permanent and tangible by its expression and leaving an imprint as a testimony for the collective memory. They do not sacrifice their integrity for the end result, but rather allow the elements of movement, culture and nature spontaneous flow as it comes onto the artwork. The gallery makes it a point in their program to also feature younger and upcoming artists, allowing them to democratize the act of art collecting by making art acquisitions accessible to a broader audience. Over the years, the gallery has participated in domestic and international art fairs such as West Bund Art & Design, Shanghai Art Fair, Beijing Art Fair, LA Art Show, Texas Contemporary, Aqua Art Miami and others in Canada, USA and Asia. In 2018 and 2019, Simard Bilodeau also participated in the development of a corporate art collection in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
