About Simlaw Ecology
Simlaw Ecology is a micro-consultancy based in Surrey. We have a specialist team who service the ecology, planning and arboriculture sectors. Simlaw Ecology specialise in Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Protected Species Surveys and BREEAM Assessments for small to large-scale developments. We are committed promoting coherence between development and the natural world and believe that providing pragmatic advice, communicated clearly, and at an honest cost to our clients, is imperative to achieving this goal. Simlaw Ecology was founded by Daniel Simmons in 2015, after five years experience with a leading London-based ecological consultancy. Daniel has worked within the conservation, scientific research and professional consultancy sectors. He holds an Honours Degree in Biodiversity Conservation and Management and is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management. He holds a Class II Survey Licence for Bats and is licensed to Climb Trees and Perform Aerial Rescue (NPTC CS:38). Ecology services we provide include: Extended Phase 1 Habitat Surveys; Bat Surveys and licensing (including climbed tree inspections); BREEAM Assessments; Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments; Protected Species surveys (for amphibians, badgers, barn owls, bats, reptiles and water voles); Free and confidential specialist advice on any ecological issue; Local Authority representation for objections or appeals based on ecological issues. Our Planning division specialise in preparing planning applications for all types of development. They can also formalise and submit an objection you might have to planning application which affects you, or appeal against a decision made by a Local Authority on your behalf. We also provide arboriculture services including remedial work, pruning and felling of small to large trees and horticultural design and maintenance.
