About Simon Cartwright Photography

Originally from the county of West Yorkshire in the UK, Simon moved to Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, with his Kiwi wife Mandy and son Daniel in May 2011. Since then he has been steadily building up a reputation for producing an exceptional calibre of professional commercial photography for clients of all sizes, locally and nationally. Simon's interest in photography began as a child with his parents' Polaroid and point-and-shoot film cameras. Upon leaving school, he trained and followed a career path within the Civil Engineering sector for nigh on 20 years. However, behind the scenes, his love of photography remained, and upon immigrating to New Zealand in 2011, Simon took the plunge and retrained as a professional commercial photographer. These days, Simon shoots his photographic images using Canon mirrorless camera equipment and utilises the latest software in a 'digital darkroom' to refine and get the most out of his imagery. He's a passionate believer in pushing his own photographic knowledge, development and skill level, to ensure the best possible images are delivered to his clients, on every project. Simon is available to shoot all types of commercial imagery including photography for industrial and agricultural businesses, brands, products, services, architecture, people and places. He's also a specialist at capturing people and their activities at events, both large and small. Simon shoots alone or with multiple photographers, which can be arranged for larger events. Simon is an Accredited Professional Commercial Photographer with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP).
