About Singapore Sports School
The Singapore Sports School was established in 2004 as a Specialised Independent School. It aims to nurture Learned Champions With Character, and its core values are Respect, Integrity, Responsibility, Excellence, Resilience. The Sports School offers nine Academy Programme sports: Badminton, Bowling, Fencing, Football, Netball, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis and Track and Field. It also admits talented student-athletes under Individual Programme sports such as Artistic Swimming, Diving, Golf, Gymnastics, Ice Skating, Pencak Silat, Squash, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Water Polo and Wushu. The Singapore Sports School offers the following academic pathways: - Secondary school programme leading to GCE ‘N’ levels or GCE ‘O’ levels - Three through-train pathways whereby student-athletes bypass the GCE ‘O’ 1) International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) 2) Diploma in Business Studies with Ngee Ann Polytechnic 3) Diploma in Business with Republic Polytechnic The Sports School has around 450 student-athletes in the secondary school programme and International Baccalaurate. In making student-athletes’ development our focus, SSP collaborates with a number of local partners such as National Sports Associations (NSAs), Singapore Sport Institute (SSI) and National Youth Sports Institute (NYSI). SSP also partners a number of overseas schools and sports agencies to provide training and developmental opportunities for the student-athletes.
