About Single Parent Resource Center
The Single Parent Resource Center, Inc., located in mid-town Manhattan, was started in 1975 as a small pilot program of the Community Service Society of New York. Now, The Single Parent Resource Center is the only independent, not- for-profit organization devoted solely to providing education and support services to a racially and ethnically diverse population of more than 2,000 of New York City’s single parent families annually. In addition, thousands of families from all around the country, and from around the world, access information about The Single Parent Resource Center’s services through our website, Facebook page, YouTube channel and Twitter page. Our services are available to all single parents, including those who are living in transitional housing; struggling with substance abuse; or have been released from incarceration. To further our mission, SPRC does the following: 1. Develops responsive programs for single parents and their families to fulfill unmet needs. 2. Advocates for improvements in social practices, policies and regulations that affect single parent families. 3. Promotes a positive image of single parents and their families within the community.
