About Us: SJAtrees is an arboricultural planning consultancy based in Tadworth, Surrey, established in 1995. We provide a full range of arboricultural consultancy services specialising in trees in the planning and development system and arboricultural problem solving, but there are few issues relating to trees that we have not dealt with. We are far more than just arboricultural surveyors: we base our assessments on the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and on local planning policies, rather than exclusively on British Standard 5837. We understand the constraints that trees impose on architects, master planners, highway engineers and surface water engineers; and we work proactively and effectively with all members of the design teams. We pride ourselves on our impartial yet empathetic advice and on our valued and longstanding relationship with our clients. A History of excellence: Since 1995 we have provided a quality service to a broad range of clients, including major development and commercial clients. Our work is of the highest standards of presentation, clearly stated and delivered within agreed timeframes. We provide our clients with arboricultural advice that answers the questions raised, is objective, thoroughly considered and compliant with current knowledge and standards. We have a very high success rate; only very rarely are our clients’ schemes turned down for arboricultural reasons. Our experience as expert witnesses in Public Inquiries has been, more often than not, picked up from new clients after a scheme they have produced has been turned down by a local planning authority.
