(Empire) provide quality contract drilling, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing throughout New York and Pennsylvania. SJB/Empire has grown to become one of the largest specialty engineering and support service firms in the Northeast with offices located near the major New York metropolitan areas of Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse. As a multi-disciplinary organization with a team of certified engineers, geologists, environmental scientists, hydrogeologists, technicians, drillers, and administrative staff, SJB/Empire offers subsurface exploration, geotechnical and environmental engineering and consulting, environmental remediation, construction monitoring and materials testing, special inspection services, geotechnical laboratory testing, and nondestructive metallurgical testing, asbestos air monitoring, forensic failure investigations and building envelope fenestration testing. SJB/Empire is a member of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) and is inspected by the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL). We are also one of the few National Voluntary Accreditation Program (NVLAP) Certified Construction Materials Testing Laboratories in the Northeast.
