SK PRIMACOR EUROPE S.L., is a Spanish Company belonging to the SK Geo Centric Co., Ltd., which manufactures and sells chemical products in South Korea and internationally. The group offers olefins, including ethylene, propylene, butadiene, methyl tert-butyl ether, and butylene; and aromatics, such as benzene, toluene, mixed xylene, para xylene, and styrene monomer that serve as raw materials for commodities, construction, appliance, and textiles. Through continuous facility investment, R&D and global business expansion, SK Geo Centric is maintaining its position as the nation's leader in the petrochemical industry. In February 2017 SK Geo Centric reached an agreement to acquire the global Ethylene Acrylic Acid (EAA) copolymers and ionomers business from Dow Chemical Company, including the factory based in Tarragona and the intellectual property and product trademarks associated (PRIMACOR™). To manage the business from Spain, the group decided to set up a local limited liability company: SK PRIMACOR EUROPE S.L.U., which was successfully and legally established that summer and began its operations on September 1, 2017. As of January 1st, 2024, SK Functional Polymers (Specialty polyolefins for packaging, recycling and automotive) is expanding its portfolio with the addition of SK Primacor Europe manufactured product range IONIA® ionomers and PRIMACORTM EAA.
