About Skate Sculpture
Skate Sculpture is an Australian owned and operated specialty skatepark design and construction company, dedicated to the continual growth of the skateboarding, scooter and BMX communities throughout Australia through the roll out of well designed and quality built skate and associated wheeled activities facilities. Founded by Perth based skateboarders Tim Yuen and Mat de Koning in 2010, Skate Sculpture is closely connected with the WA skateboarding, scooter and BMX community and active in advocacy of innovation in skatepark implementation to councils, town planners, retail outlets and educational institutes throughout Australia. With a constantly growing portfolio of successfully completed projects, the Skate Sculpture team has evolved to include landscape architects, project managers and highly experienced skatepark builders so as to allow the offering of complete project services from community consultation, through to planning, detailed design, construction, activation and video documentation. Skate Sculpture’s full service approach ensures continual quality assurance for the project through efficient internal communication and experience handover. Through advocacy efforts and community outreach, Skate Sculpture has delivered quality design and construction solutions that have become concrete reality. From the Planning Institute of Australia award winning Forrestfield Youth Plaza (2015) to the Parks and Leisure Australia national award winning Newdegate Skatepark (2019) and being awarded the prestigious Parks and Leisure Australia ‘West Australian Park of the Year’ for the past two years in a row (Bina Parkland - 2021, Hotham Valley Adventure Park - 2022), Skate Sculpture pride themselves in creating innovative skate facilities on the cutting edge of modern skatepark design.
