Skidmore Studio is boldly independent with a creative approach honed over six decades in the creative services biz, but we don’t let it go to our heads. Skidmore Studio was founded in Detroit by veteran illustrator Leo Skidmore way back in 1959. In those days, we were a sought-after illustration studio for the Big Three and other major brands like McDonald’s and Ski-Doo. Leo opened the studio out of his desire to provide an inspiring, healthy environment where he and other artists could deepen their craft in good company while making a living wage - a legacy we continue to honor today. Every day, Monday through Friday, from 9ish to 5ish (we are a national connected-remote team after all), we live out core values rooted in Leo’s original vision. The words to describe those values have changed over the years, but the message has stayed the same: Be a Sage, Have the Zest, and Deliver the Goods.
