Skipper’s began in early 2013 by former fish merchant Steve Moore. Skipper’s is situated in Grimsby, known for its rich fishing heritage and status as ‘Europe’s Food Town’. Steve has a long history with the local fish industry and saw an opportunity to produce high-quality natural dog treats. Here at Skipper’s, we have 80 years of combined experience in the fishing industry. Our treats are low-fat natural fish-based treats that act as an everyday treat and as a treat to help clean a dog’s teeth, protect gums, prevent stiff joints, etc. From experience built over years and years, we have created relations with fish merchants that provide us with the best quality fish. It is very important to us where we source our fish because we want to provide dogs with the best quality treats. A large percentage of our fish comes from zone 27 in the Atlantic ocean, and these zones are responsibly monitored by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). Our main lines of dog treats consist of Cod or Wolf Fish. Our Cod and Wolf Fish are sourced in zone 27 in the Atlantic Ocean, and our Salmon are sourced from 2 locations; Scotland and zone 67 in the Pacific Ocean. Sprats are another main fish species in our range, sourced from zone 27 III in the Atlantic ocean.
