STEEL AND ALUMINIUM BOAT HULLS Shipyard Blom is a family business, founded in 1957 and located in Hindeloopen, Friesland. Shipyard Blom is specialised in building steel and aluminium boat hulls. We build boats by our own design, such as the Lemsteraak, Frisian Visaak, Zeeschouw, Boeier, Tjotter, Vlet and Staverse Jol. We are well known for our Blom-aak, a Lemsteraak which we build in different versions with sizes varying between 9,5 and 16,25 meters. Shipyard Blom also builds boats designed by others, such as the Flevo 49, Flevowner 50, Dutchman 52, Wadkapers en Noordkapers. Our boats are completely digitalised so we can change each design according to your wishes. PLASMA CUTTING / BOAT KITS Shipyard Blom has provided plasma cutting services since 1990. Our expertise in plasma cutting technology has contributed enormously to the success and growth of our business. Shipyard Blom has built a name for itself in offering numerous premium CNC boat kits (pre-cut boat packages) in aluminium and steel. MAINTENANCE, REPAIR and REFIT We are experts in maintenance, repair and refit; especially for traditional round bilge boats. Shipyard Blom enables lighter and more comfortable sailing with our hydraulic mast-lowering system, stainless steel leeboards/rudder and other innovations by Blom. Make use of our expertise, and enjoy your ship more and for a longer time. COMMITMENT to QUALITY In 2012 we have moved to new premises within a stone’s throw of our old location. On this new location we installed a 40 Ton hydraulic boot lift, and created extra indoor and outdoor boat storage. In these modern premises we combine tradition, experience, craftsmanship and technology.
