SKO Family Law Specialists has top tier ranking in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners UK guide to the legal profession; is one of only two Scottish firms in Chambers High Net Worth and the only Scottish firm in Spears. We have been the largest niche family law practice in Scotland since 2008. We practice exclusively Scots family law, although many of our clients are ex-pats or work in England & Wales or abroad. We don’t dabble in areas where we don’t have the necessary expertise. Our preference is for an independent, multi-disciplinary team approach, which allows us to work with other specialists- family lawyers in other jurisdictions; tax, family office, reputation management, corporate, immigration, property or employment lawyers; accountants, wealth management advisors and trustees. This means we can pull together highly effective teams, which best serve the unique needs of each and every client. Our practice is roughly a third financial provision on separation or divorce, a third child law and a third jurisdictional and novel family law issues. We work with people with modest means through to UHNW individuals and families. Our lawyers are highly regarded, with all of the partners being recognised in the leading directories. We have a strong commitment to DR and helping clients find the most constructive way to resolve matters- and have some of the most experienced mediators, arbitrators and collaborative family lawyers in Scotland.
