An Australian company which specialises in protective coatings, hygiene treatments, and interior maintenance for the air, sea and land transport sectors, has rebranded and expanded to also include support services for major facilities, including retail, entertainment and industrial spaces. Brisbane-based Skygard, formerly Permagard Aviation, provides a suite of exterior and interior cleaning and maintenance services for aircraft including helicopters, corporate fleets, passenger airliners ranging from regional turboprops to large, long-haul jets, and dedicated freighters. Services include exterior wet and dry washing, paint rejuvenation and protective coatings, hygiene applications and pest control, biohazard cleans, cabin presentation. and maintenance, and replacement of soft furnishings and galley equipment. Additionally, through its sister-company, 145 Aviation Services, Skygard is the Australia-New Zealand provider of the Cyclean® engine wash system, developed by Lufthansa Technik to rid aircraft powerplants of accumulated impurities which reduce engine efficiency and contribute to increased carbon emissions. Skygard and 145 Aviation also offer a 28-day antimicrobial shield treatment produced by another company in the group, Hygiene Labs, to inactivate surface-borne contaminations including the Covid-19 virus. Aviation clients using this treatment include Australia’s Royal Flying Doctor Service, Fiji Airways, Nauru Airlines, a major VIP fleet operator and two significant Asia Pacific airline groups. A CASA approved Part 145 organisation, Skygard offers a range of services that traditional ground handling agents do not, nor do traditional MRO’s do well or efficiently.
