About Slo and Aotearoad
Aotearoad was founded in 2016 by two women who wanted to make a change to the ever-increasing presence of plastic on supermarket shelves. They are both passionately connected to the ocean and dreamed of creating alternatives for everyday products in home compostable planet and ocean friendly packaging. Vanessa and Monica found a gap in the market for affordable paper compostable packaging in the health and beauty category. No product ticked all the sustainability box of being NZ made, plastic free, compostable, 100% natural, affordable, user friendly and most importantly effective. Our Values Aotearoad’s goal is to bring ecologically sound products into every household. We offer affordable and fair priced natural products without compromising on the packaging or ingredients. Together we are challenging the beauty world by creating quality for a fraction of the cost of some other competing brands so they can be accessible to more people. We Support In NZ, we are a gold sponsor of Legasea and donate 5c for every tube sold to the Royal Albatross centre to help keep these amazing birds from extinction. We are starting to do work with sustainable coastlines and are part of the sustainable business network and NZTE. We donate to lots of charities including Women’s Refuge, Salvation Arm & City Mission. We are also working with schools to help educate the importance of using chemical free natural products.
