About Sloemotion Distillery
Sloemotion Distillery is an award-winning spirits distillery based in North Yorkshire and widely acclaimed for creating small batch spirits using locally foraged hedgerow botanicals. With a strong ethos of care for the environment and the wildlife that lives there, combined with an attractive aesthetic, this is what, we believe, makes us stand out from the rest. Established over 15 years ago, the business began with its’ synonymous Sloe Gin; created almost by accident after conservation work on the farm yielded lots of sloes – this led to production of a range of award-winning hedgerow fruit liqueurs including Bramble Whisky, Cherry Brandy and Damson Gin. True to our green credentials, never liking any waste, once the Sloe Gin is made, we use the gin-soaked sloes (too good to throw away) and ‘re-purpose’ them in our popular Sloe Gin Truffles (Great Taste Awards 2018 2-Gold Stars) and our Sloe Chutney. In 2017, we went back to the hedgerows to launch Hedgerow Spirits; a range of innovative dry gins and botanical vodka distilled in our environmentally efficient iStill. Today the company supplies more than 400 independent farm shops, food halls, garden centres & delis as well as businesses such as Waitrose, Booths, Liberty London, Co-op, Majestic Wines, Berry Brothers & Rudd and The Wine Society. The business has also entered the on-trade market supplying bars, hotels and restaurants all over the UK.
