We are an independent organization of farmers, agronomists, engineers, entrepreneurs, lawyers and private citizens who care about the environment. Our goal is to restore, nurture and protect the soil so that it remains healthy and fertile for the generations to come. Inspired by Slow Money NYC, "Slow Money Israel" (Mashkiim Baadama) is bringing capital back into the earth, strengthening local food systems for a better future. We operate via three main channels: 1. Investments with heart - our loan fund raises capital and delivers 0% loans to farmers, small, local food and compost producers with a positive footprint in our world. 2. Cooperative lab for soil health - we are building a community of land stewards, farmers, agricultural teachers and other professionals that share knowledge and generate insights to gain a deeper understanding of the soil and how to tend to it. 3. Helping small-scale farmers thrive – our legal department promotes food sovereignty, providing local entities with the tools to overcome legal, regulatory and bureaucratic hurdles. All three channels work together to strengthen local communities that benefit the earth and loosen the grip of our highly-centralized food systems. Man and soil are inseparable.
