SmartDx is focused on the development and commercialization of direct-to-consumer genetic testing predictive assessments for cardiac and cancerous diseases in canines. We believe that direct-to-consumer screening for such diseases will soon become one of the pillars of modern personalized veterinary medicine because such high-quality disease risk predictions can allow for early and directly relevant preventative care and monitoring of at-risk canines. These assessments can be initiated by the pet owner, breeder, or veterinarian with a simple mouth swab. Our proprietary bioinformatics and machine learning algorithms provide fast conversion of sequenced samples to a binary format and highly accurate/sensitive disease risk prediction.
