Smith & Company Architects was founded in 1999 by founder and Principal Architect Terry Smith AIA NOMA. Starting with a couple of small school and housing commissions completed on a living room PC, the firm has grown and survived for two decades with a team of talented committed design professionals, providing our clients with superior service not often found in a firm of our size and background. Having completed successful projects of all types of clients including local and state governmental agencies and non-profit and private developers, we have grown especially adept at educational buildings and multi-family housing developments. We work hard to stay ahead of the latest trends in K12 school design, collegiate facilities and campus planning, and housing models for both market rate and affordable and senior tenants. We are a generalist firm, possessing the ability to respect the culture and needs of the client with the context of the communities in which we build. Having received design awards from industry organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), we delight in designing signature buildings that are beautiful, functional, and sustainable, while simultaneously developing long standing personal relationships with our clients.
