Smith Powder Coating, LLC was founded to ensure the highest quality surface preparation and powder coating for its customers. After being approached multiple times by customers that were having issues with their current powder coaters cutting corners when the season got busy, the Smith Family decided to start Smith Powder Coating, LLC. With Quality control in the hands of the professionals, Smith Powder Coating ensures every part is sandblasted to specification SSPC SP5/NACE "White Metal", Epoxy Primed and Powder Coated. This provides for the longest lasting powder coating on the market. Not all powder coating is the same. It may look great fresh out of the oven, but when you add the elements that is when you see rust and corrosion form underneath the beautiful powder coating. Smith Powder Coating, LLC sandblasts all steel down to a "White Finish" To clean the metal of all impurities such as, oil, rust, corrosion, mill scale and laser scale. If these impurities are left on the surface they will create an improper bond between steel and primer as well as offer areas for rust and corrosion to start. After Sandblasting a small molecule epoxy primer is applied that melts deep into the profiled surface of the metal that was created by sandblasting. The primers only function is to serve as the bonding agent between steel and powder.
