With the service launching later this year in UK, Ireland, France and Germany and Patent Pending, So-Li/X Regeneration (SLiR) is a joint venture between three organisations, each with a common vision of how to solve a developing global issue; the relentless demand for renewable energy, the shrinking deposits of rare materials and the growing problem of material waste. Expired warranty solar panels and batteries are collected and transported safely to advanced recycling facilities where critical materials needed for re-use are recovered. These are then reprocessed and used to create affordable, high-quality “Second Life” panels and batteries at a fraction of the cost of new. Every regenerated system made avoids the production of tonnes of carbon emissions by reducing the need for mining and processing of virgin materials. Our approach not only lowers the environmental footprint of energy storage but also helps organisations meet ambitious carbon offset goals. With millions of systems approaching end-of-warranty over the next decade, the regeneration opportunity is vast.
