About SOAR Special Needs
SOAR (Special Opportunities, Abilities, and Relationships) SOAR assists families with special needs to SOAR in the local and faith communities! We answer the 3 main questions that every family with special needs has: 1. Will my child ever be able to provide for themself? 2. Who will take care of my child once I am gone? 3. Who will take care of me (as parents/caregiver)? SOAR will answer all three of these questions through our current and future programming. We currently provide respite through our monthly SOARly Needed R&R through the school year, an annual SOAR Special Needs Summer Day Camp, an annual Wonderfully Made National Special Needs Conference, and church consulting on doing special needs ministry. In the next few years, we will launch: 1. 48 hour weekend respite for families to pour into one another and to the siblings 2. 12 hour overnight respite Monday-Thursday nights 3. Adult job training and job placement facility 4. Purchase apartments/hotels for adult assisted living facilities and group homes for adults with special needs 5. Assist 1000 churches/organizations in launching special needs ministry or improving what you are already doing 6. Take the Wonderfully Made Conference on the road so that no one in the United States will be more that 6 hours away from a disability conference! 7. Take the SOAR Summer Camp on the road across the Country 8. Create a Special Needs Ministry Residency Program to assist churches in starting programs 9. Build an all-inclusive ball field that would be available for the community 10. Build an all-inclusive playground that would be available for the community. 11. Create mission trips all over the world to orphanages with individuals with special needs that are geared towards families with special needs to participate and go on. 12.
