✨ Introduction ✨ The Social Capital Academy (SCA) is a short-term, high-impact program that bridges the opportunity gap and opens career doors for first-generation and underrepresented college students. SCA relies on dedicated volunteers (Career Mentors/Career Experts) and actively involves junior-level college students as they embark on their career journeys. Our main goal is to support our students by providing them with the skills, confidence, and real-time social networks necessary to secure internships and full-time positions with leading companies. We believe this truly levels the playing field and empowers our students to become successful professionals and role models in their communities. 💡 How does it work? 💡 SCA is a virtual four-module not-for-credit program that links junior year college students to active professionals in their fields of interest. It is a virtual ecosystem made up of students, professional mentors, instructors, and program resources! 🌱 How do we know it works? 🌱 Students who have participated in SCA have formed meaningful bonds with mentors, sharpened their goals, and achieved internships and scholarships.
