Developing social learning leadership? We've been writing the theory and consulting for nearly forty years. At the social learning lab we run summits, retreats and training for social learning leaders - or work with you to run your own. Our events are aimed at organizations or individuals who are leading social leading initiatives, such as communities of practice, landscapes of practice, social learning spaces. You may lead a portfolio of initiatives or just one. Your aim is to become more strategic in your planning, cultivating, or evaluating your project and want to engage with others doing something similar to help think through your challenges and opportunities. We have written the pioneering books and articles on social learning, including communities of practice, monitoring and promoting the value of social learning, and systems convening. Our theory is rooted in practice. We tend to run boutique events that are tailored to the experience and projects that event members bring to the table. These can include more structured events where we share frameworks and tools for developing your social learning leadership to pioneering workshops where we explore the cutting-edge of issues in all their complexity and uncertainty. The social learning lab is located at the coast with big sky views that reach out to the ocean. The building architecture is unique, with very high ceilings and plenty of outdoor space. The environment opens the imagination and encourages agency and dialogue. A fisherman's village, the food is delicious and the town welcoming. The Four Point Sheraton is literally on the doorstep and an ideal place to stay. There are also some delightful AirBnB and local lodging places nearby. We offer private retreats, reading and writing retreats, as well as other types of events.
