La Société Alzheimer de Montréal vise à alléger les conséquences sociales et personnelles de la maladie d’Alzheimer et des maladies apparentées, ainsi qu'à promouvoir la recherche de leurs causes et remèdes. Afin d'aider les personnes atteintes, les proches aidants, familles et amis, la Société offre divers programmes et services de soutien, éducation et de répit et stimulation. Plus de 33 000 Montréalais vivent avec la maladie d'Alzheimer ou une maladie apparentée et plus de 125 000 Québécois en sont affectés. On prévoit que le nombre de personnes vivant avec la maladie va doubler et un véritable boum Alzheimer se produira, d'ici quelques années. The Montreal Alzheimer Society aims to alleviate the social and personal consequences of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as to promote research into their causes and cure. To help persons affected, their caregivers, families and friends, the Society offers various programs and services, including support, education and in-home respite and stimulation. More than 33,000 Montrealers are living with Alzheimer's disease or a related form of dementia and more than 125,000 people in Quebec are affected. It is estimated that the number of persons living with the disease will double, creating an Alzheimer's boom in a few years.
