About Society for Enterprise Education and Development
SEED, the Society for Enterprise Education and Development, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to make a difference in youth’s lives and works to build and foster attitudes, skills and knowledge needed for self-sufficiency. SEED delivers two pre-employability programs for youth connected to the Department of Community Services. The Youth Employability Program (YEP) is an outreach based employment support program for youth connected to the social assistance and child welfare systems. YEP staff reach out to youth on an individual basis, meeting them in their communities and assisting them in achieving their career, employment and education goals. With YEP’s ongoing support, youth build upon the personal characteristics, skills, attitudes and resources they possess to create a bright future for themselves. Skills2SucSEED (S2S) is a virtual program for youth in care of the province. Through group workshops, individual sessions and a work placement, S2S supports participants in developing digital literacy, wellness, and pre-employability skills. This program incentivizes and encourages youth to be actively expanding their skills, knowledge, and confidence in order to achieve an independent and successful future.
