About Society of Cannabis Clinicians
The Society of Cannabis Clinicians (SCC) is a nonprofit professional association of physicians and other healthcare providers. We provide continuing education —for ourselves, our patients, our colleagues, and all concerned — about the medical use of cannabis and best practices in clinical care. SCC physicians have been monitoring cannabis use by patients for 20 years and have compiled a wealth of clinical evidence and treatment strategies that we are confident will be validated by clinical trials in the years ahead. (The paucity of clinical trials is a function of prohibition. Removing impediments to clinical trials is, of course, an SCC goal.) Values & Mission To share clinical evidence with colleagues and patients To develop and promote best practice standards for cannabis consultations To evaluate and recommend policies relating to cannabis research, production, and safety. To encourage medical graduates and healthcare professionals to discuss cannabis as a treatment option with patients. To defend and expand physicians' rights to practice cannabis-based medicine. To remove impediments to clinical research. The SCC provides CME courses and membership opportunities to those who would like to broaden their knowledge about the use of cannabis in clinical practice. We also have a Physicians Locator Map for patients looking to find cannabis-friendly healthcare providers. Our Research Libary showcases hundreds of research articles that have been vetted by Board members to ensure that only rigorous, unbiased, and non-commercialized studies are included.
