About Society of Salvage
Society of Salvage is an Indianapolis-born salvage brand built on grit, storytelling, and the power of reuse. Since 2012, we've worked with designers, builders, and visionaries to source architectural and industrial materials that carry a sense of place—and a past worth preserving. What started with a few barstools for a neighborhood restaurant turned into over a decade of salvaging warehouses, factories, schools, and forgotten buildings across the Midwest. We didn’t just sell raw materials—we connected people with pieces that still had work to do. From rusted steel to worn brick, mid-century lighting to machine-age hardware, our inventory was curated with intention, not trend. The goal? To supply the kinds of materials you can’t fake—because they’ve already lived a life. Over the years, we’ve partnered with interior designers, architects, and commercial clients who needed more than just “cool stuff.” They needed character. They needed history. They needed materials that elevated the soul of a space without overexplaining themselves. Though our retail space is now closed, our work continues through consulting, custom sourcing, and legacy projects. We’re still here to help you bring purpose to your build—whether you’re creating a restaurant with roots, a hotel with edge, or a home that feels like it’s always been there. We believe salvage is about more than style. It’s about stewardship, problem-solving, and preserving what’s worth keeping. It’s about closing the loop—and finding creative ways to honor the past while building something new.
