About Solaris Fatigue Management
Solaris Fatigue Management is committed to harmonizing work with the worker by supplying innovative and effective fatigue risk management strategies. Working closely with our clients, regulatory bodies, and national and international standards associations, we will continue to expand our leadership role in delivering the most up-to-date, evidenced based services and solutions. Fatigue is many things, but simple is not one of them. Rotating shifts, night work, split schedules, extended hours, overtime and call-in assignments add to the complexity of managing fatigued workers. The physiological and neurological challenges imposed by fatigue and declining alertness affect health, safety and real-time performance. Solaris utilizes a systems approach that recognizes that human errors are consequences rather than causes, largely due to systemic failures. Control, therefore, focuses on changing the conditions under which individuals work rather than trying to change the individual. In terms of fatigue, it means going beyond employee training to include the assessment of the organizational structure for fatigue related risk. Schedule design, workload, recovery opportunities, journey management, commuting etc., all need to be examined. Let Solaris help you establish an effective fatigue risk management system (FRMS) that emphasizes multiple, overlapping levels of control based on evidenced-based fatigue science and driven by objective data. Our goal is to integrate your fatigue management efforts into part of an overall fit-for-duty plan as well as your existing health & safety management system. In this way, we can mitigate fatigue related risk with the goal of optimizing worker health and safety while enhancing organizational performance.
