About Solas for Nature

Solas for Nature restores the balance in nature one small scrap of land at a time. We work with our partners to enhance neglected scraps of land with various biodiversity improvements from bee houses and wildflower meadows to wetland creations. By focusing on enhancements for insects, we are producing habitat optimised for key species which act as pollinators and important food sources, thereby maximising the benefit for other taxa further up the food chain. If we can involve communities and volunteers so much the better as we want the areas we improve to change how people interact with them, as well as how they improve the level of biodiversity. Much of what we do is aimed at the insect level and not large animals as the areas in question are often too small to have any real impact, but from small beginnings large changes can take place.
