About Soledad Community Health Care District
Originally established as the Soledad Community Hospital District in 1948, the Soledad Community Health Care District (SCHCD) provides for the health care needs of Soledad residents and surrounding communities. The SCHCD is a California Special District that owns and operates three not-for-profit healthcare facilities. In 1989, the Soledad Medical Clinic (SMC) was established as an outpatient, family medicine, rural health clinic. Services at the SMC include but are not limited to: o Family Medicine (Pediatric, Adult Medicine, and Seniors) o X-ray o Ultrasound o COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Shortly thereafter in 1993, the Eden Valley Care Center (EVCC) opened and currently operates as a skilled nursing facility whose five-star medicare rating is provided for short-term rehabilitation patients and long-term residents. Services at EVCC include but are not limited to: o Five-star nursing o Customized meal plans o Comprehensive therapy program Most recently in 2020, the Soledad Women’s Health Center (WHC) was opened to expand the health services to the community with a higher level of care specifically for women. Services at the WHC include but are not limited to: o Perinatal Education o 3D Mammography machine screening o Breast exams o OB-GYN services To support the programs and services of the SMC, EVCC, and most recently the WHC the Soledad Community Healthcare District Foundation was established in 1996. This foundation is a registered 501 (c)(3) that acts as the philanthropic arm of the healthcare district.
