About Solid Stance for Unity & Community

Solid Stance for Unity and Community is a small 501(c)3 nonprofit serving Central Arkansas. Solid Stance has partnered with Unity Martial Arts and the City of Little Rock to provide an afterschool program to the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership and Language Academy in Little Rock. The partnership and program is in its third year and has been a tremendous success. The program allows King students to exercise with peers, learn Cuong Nhu and self-defense, grow confidence and strength, improve their mental health, and earn scholarships to continue training. The Solid Stance Volunteer Program provides volunteers to assist and pays King faculty members to support Unity Martial Arts Senseis during each class. This combination creates a fabulous team and community connections that are meaningful for everyone involved. This afterschool opportunity has been well received by students, parents, teachers, and administration at King Elementary. Private and public support and funding ensures the sustainability of this unique opportunity for very deserving communities. Solid Stance provides a scholarship fund for Unity Martial Arts students who have demonstrated the desire and dedication to pursue martial arts training but are unable to do so due to financial hardship or limitations. Scholarships have been awarded to King Elementary students who have excelled in the program and desire to continue after graduating from the program. Scholarship funding is also available to current students who are in need of emergency financial aid. Students must be able demonstrate a financial need and attend classes regularly.
