Somatherapy Institute offers the best massage therapy certification training and educational experience in the desert. Since its inception in 1991,it remains the only school in the Palm Springs area entirely dedicated to massage and the only school offering individual massage therapy training classes in the Coachella Valley. Our campus is located in Rancho Mirage. Somatherapy programs are geared toward the massage practitioner or massage therapist seeking state certification. Students are encouraged to enroll in the complete program if possible. Classes and workshops are available "a la carte," beginning with basic Swedish and Kinesiology, continuing with Deep Tissue massage, Sports massage, Lymph Drainage Massage, Myofascial Release, Spa Services, Thai, Hot Stone and Lomilomi to name but a few. Swedish and Kinesiology are prerequisites for many of our classes and students should enroll in these two classes to get started if they cannot enroll in the whole program. Most modalities that are offered in spas and hotels, physical therapist, chiropractic and doctor's offices are studied at our school and taught by experts. This is important for those established massage therapists that might need a single class to add to their menu or specific classes needed for certification. Workshops are also incorporated into our programs with advanced techniques and energy-based modalities such as Polarity, Reiki and Cranial Sacral.
