Sonamu manages a private partnership with a simple purpose: sustained exceptional compounding. With a broad and flexible charter across global asset classes, we are dedicated to enabling talent in the pursuit of excellence, passionate about spotting value, and rigorous in risk management. Our strategy is forward-looking, patient and opportunistic. By combining independent thinking with humility in the short term we can be more confident in achieving our long term goal: to enjoy the exponential benefit of compounding at greater multiples of return than is typical for similar institutional-quality risk. The Partnership draws from leading-edge investment thinking, decades of experience, and a diverse network of global relationships to identify opportunities usually accessible to only the most well-established, highly developed and large-scale programs. But “access” alone is not sufficient to realize the potential for exceptional returns over the long term - and this is why most investors do not succeed in doing so. History, human nature, and data provide all the evidence. Achieving this goal also requires the capacity to combine expertise with intuition, to then repeatedly make good judgements and to continually reinvest. Capturing outperformance with superior risk-adjusted returns from selection, alpha, and diversification is about asymmetry, variant perceptions and avoiding big mistakes. This is a hard truth that frustrates many smart, privileged, and hard working people who are used to being rewarded by the system for their good linear thinking and behavior - our difference helps us embrace the challenge. Our partnership was founded in 2019, investing solely on behalf of a large single family office and ourselves. With a robust portfolio, pipeline of ideas, and strong performance since inception, we became a fully independent firm in Q4 2022, and invest our endowment-style portfolio on behalf of select families and foundations.
