About SOSOADAE
SOSOADAE is a book publishing house for the fiction disrupting our anti-Black literary imagination. FICTION MAKES US HUMAN. As a girl, I felt that God had made me the lowest form of human being, to be both Black and female. I felt this way because of the stories that I was told. Stories that demonized what is African, criminalized what is Black, and made useless and degenerative what is both Black and female. In post-colonial literary imagination, human potential is not achieved until an author or other creative has moved a Black body through white dreams, so Black literary imagination alone is not seen as complete in the modern world. Presently, the European literary canon, “Star Trek,” “Star Wars,” and “Marvel” are designing our Black futures and shaping Black dreams. SOSOADAE MAKES US WHOLE. SOSOADAE is a space for Black dreamers to inspire, create, and design Black futures. Our mission is to create a writer, reader, and listener base fluent in anti-Black literary foundations and anti-racist design by publishing books that change how we write, read, and dream. Our goal is to publish the first generation of great post-colonial writers not influenced by Shakespeare. We publish stories that make Black people whole. DIVERSITY, EQUITY, & INCLUSION (DEI) We support decentralizing European literary imagination and elevating fiction from diverse literary centers. Styles: SOSOADAE / SOSOADAE (HOUSE) THE SOSO ADAE BAR SOSO ADAE, L3C *We are veteran-owned, woman-owned, and Black-owned.
