About SouleWork
Hand-picked and sustainably harvested lumber is crafted into modern, heirloom quality studio furniture at SouleWork, Artisan Furniture. Each piece is designed and crafted by Matthew Soule, owner & operator at our Rhode Island design studio. A fifth generation woodworker, Matthew’s ancestral values of quality materials, attention to detail, and precision joinery guide his work. Through his process of education in spiritual formation and meditation, Matthew rediscovered his love of imagining various furniture designs and bringing them to fruition with his mind and body. This professional background in existential philosophy, spiritual direction, and meditation undergirds and influences his design process. Each piece endeavors to be as functional as it is beautiful. Environmental sustainability is important to us at SouleWork. All of our lumber comes from sustainably harvested forests and mills and all of our furniture is of heirloom-quality with an enduring design to ensure its long life and good health. Scrap pieces of wood are reclaimed and incorporated into smaller projects whenever possible or donated to various local vendors.
