The South African Abalone Export Council is a voluntary, non-profit organisation that represents Abalone farms along the West and East Coastlines. The South African Abalone Export Council Intends To Be A Recognised Council In The Global Abalone Sector And A Leader Within The South African Aquaculture Industry. We promote the South African Abalone for the benefit of our members, consumers, trade and stakeholders in the Aquaculture Sector. We aim to promote the South African abalone, to: 🌀 Create economic stability in the South African industry 🌀 Increase international consumer awareness of South African abalone 🌀 Increase the international market share of South African abalone 🌀 Improve the market image of South African abalone 🌀 Maintain South African abalone’s position as the leading abalone species of its kind in the world 🌀 Enable small businesses and companies controlled or owned by historically disadvantaged persons to become competitive in local and international markets We aim to achieve this by offering the following key services: • Educating buyers and consumers about South African abalone: the species, the country, and the product. • Establishing South African abalone as a premium, high-quality product so that producers can maximise abalone value. • Assisting our members to create and establish their own brand in key markets and to leverage our awareness work on South African abalone.
