About South Central Planning and Development Commission
SCPDC South Central Planning and Development Commission performs a variety of services to meet the ever changing needs and challenges of its member parishes - St Charles, St John, St James, Assumption, Lafourche and Terrebonne, St. Mary and the seven municipalities contained within. These services include long range regional planning, working with state and federal offices to secure and manage grants for public works projects , responding to current issues such as natural disasters, providing professional support to parish governments, and providing loans and other services to businesses and citizens. We also house the Houma -Thibodaux MPO and do transportation planning in all six of our parishes. In all, South Central Planning is a diverse, ever changing Commission serving many different constituencies. Members of the MPO include local government officials as well as representatives from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Federal Transit Association.
