We create custom prostheses for missing or disfigured areas including ocular, orbital, nasal, auricular, nipples, digits (fingers and toes), partial hands and feet, and body/tissue contour. In addition, we provide pressure splinting therapy for keloid scars on ears. When part of the body is missing from either birth, or as a result of cancer or trauma, the effect on a person can be very stressful. Surgery can often be used to restore the face or other effected part of the body, but there are limitations. Facial silicone prostheses are custom devices that are made to look lifelike and mimic natural tissues. They are applied externally and can be taken off for cleaning. The prosthesis serves to not only mask the effected site, but to also protect and support underlying tissues. They can additionally aid support of other appliances such as glasses and hearing aids. Each patient is worked with closely to create a natural and comfortable result that will build confidence. We are excited to promote our modern digital workflow in our prosthetic rehabilitation, involving a state-of-the-art face and body scanner, computer-aided design and 3D printing of wax patterns and final moulds.
