About South Georgia Tormenta FC
Founded in 2015, South Georgia Tormenta FC is a professional soccer club based in Statesboro, Georgia. Tormenta FC competes in the professional USL League One and the USL W League, under the United Soccer League (USL), and has also established a thriving academy system throughout South Georgia and the Lowcountry of South Carolina. South Georgia boasts a competitive roster, featuring local, national and international players. Since the club’s debut in 2016, the club rapidly solidified its position as one of the top contenders in USL League Two nationwide. Transitioning to USL League One as a founding member in 2019, South Georgia Tormenta FC continued its ascent. By 2022, Tormenta secured championship titles in both the USL W League and USL League One. Tormenta FC has established itself as the premier fútbol club in the South Georgia region, bringing together fans, business leaders, and community peers under one united love of soccer. The club is constructing a new state-of-the-art 5,300-seat soccer-specific stadium in Statesboro. Planned to be built next to The Clubhouse on Old Register Road, the new venue will provide an exciting and authentic professional soccer experience for fans and players alike. The club established itself as one of the premier USL League Two teams (formerly known as PDL) across the United States before joining USL League One as the founding member of the league. In 2018, Tormenta’s League Two team finished their season as Champions of the Deep South Division. The club is constructing a new state-of-the-art 5,000-seat soccer-specific stadium in Statesboro. Planned to be built next to The Clubhouse on Old Register Road, the new venue will provide an exciting and authentic professional soccer experience for fans and players alike.
