About South Hook Gas Company
South Hook Gas is a UK-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) import company, which owns and manages the regasification capacity at the South Hook Terminal at Milford Haven in West Wales. It does this by importing LNG and supplying gas into the UK gas transmission system. In addition, the company markets the spare capacity at the terminal to enable other companies to supply gas into the UK market. South Hook Gas has signed a number of agreements with leading energy market participants meaning that the UK can access gas supplies, transported as LNG, from around the world. South Hook Gas can provide around 20% of the UK's natural gas needs and has supplied gas every day since commencing operations in 2009. As one of the cleanest fossil fuels, natural gas has an important role to play in helping the UK to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. Established in 2004 and based in London, South Hook Gas is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum International (70 per cent) and ExxonMobil (30 per cent).
