About South Texas Merchant's Association
Founded in 2000, South Texas Merchant’s Association (STMA) was established with the goal of enhancing the lives of its members. STMA assists its members by maximizing discounts on goods and services through negotiating collaborative and mutually beneficial agreements with leading companies such as PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay, and Dr. Pepper. Additionally, STMA takes pride in supporting the Texas economy by identifying opportunities to collaborate with several Texas-based small businesses. STMA believes in fostering strong partnerships with vendors to offer marketing and promotional opportunities that benefit both customers and members. Over the years, STMA has also built relationships with various governmental agencies, including the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, San Antonio Police Department, San Antonio Fire Department, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the City of San Antonio, to address members' concerns and strengthen community ties. When STMA was founded, it had an initial membership of approximately 80 members. Today, our membership has grown to over 400 members across South Texas, making it the largest association of its kind in the region. Collectively, STMA members support the local economy by creating over 3,200 jobs and generating more than $850 million in sales annually. Beyond being a strong business partner, STMA remains committed to giving back to the community. Our ongoing support includes partnerships with organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the San Antonio Fire Department, the American Red Cross, the American Diabetes Association, the Aga Khan Foundation, FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance, and many more.
